Today is Father’s Day. It is the one day each year set aside to honor our fathers. It is also a time when fathers should remember just how important our role is. We have the responsibility of being a reflection of God to our children. One of the ways that people have described God…is that He is our heavenly “Father”. As a father, I want my children to see God in me. I want them to know that I love them with an unconditional love. I want them to feel safe, because dad’s protecting them. And I want them to love God and accept Christ as their Savior …at least in part, because they saw that in their father. On this Father’s Day, I invite all our men (and especially fathers) to look truthfully at ourselves to see if we are a reflection of God to those around us. I challenge you to make any changes necessary to provide a better picture of God. And, finally, as our family and friends see “God” in us, may they be drawn closer to Him! Happy Father’s Day!
